Process/Application Engineer newSouth Bend, IN 46628Process/Application EngineerDescriptionSouth Bend, IN You will leverage your process or application engineering skills and manufacturing/production experience or relative academic experience in the application of 1 of our friction joining technologies to products manufactured by our customers world-wide. You will also have the opportunity to investigate and correct process problems as they are identified by internal and external customers. Your primary focus will be the support of our customers through the sales, service, contract welding, and equipment manufacturing departments. Integration between systems and production as you identify, develop and implement improvements to the existing manufacturing processes and methods. A experience in mechanical, manufacturing, welding or metallurgical engineering is preferred as well as familiarity and functionality with SolidWorks (or another CAD program), and M2M (or a similar ERP system). Your willingness to take a hands-on approach, as well as your understanding of interpreting data/trends will ensure your success in this highly visible role. Utilizing your excellent presentation and business skills to demonstrate the merits of your proven knowledge of quality improvements and innovative ideas, you will be positioning our client for further expansion in the marketplace and future growth. You not only have a knowledge and understanding of process improvements (friction joining process and metallurgical experience are pluses), but you have also successfully integrated your process experience and troubleshooting ability into fully realized projects. Your strong management skills, deadline-sensitivity and ability to ?take charge? with your problem-solving capabilities and your ability to work efficiently with all internal teammates and external customers will be instrumental in the continued growth of friction joining as an acceptable and desirable method of joining a broad spectrum of materials across manufacturing industries around the world.
